Semogue SOC Premium Boar in Butterscotch Resin

The Semogue SOC Premium Boar is, for me, the best shaving brush I have ever used and I have used some of the finest commercial/well known brands and those of the custom made variety. The premium boar hair from Semogue combined with the density and dimensions of the knot and if properly broken in provides an all around superior shave experience than any other brush - boar or badger of any grade. It will later quicker than other brushes I have used, hold the soap and just enough water and allow you to apply it deftly/efficiently; all I believe due to the stronger backbone of the bristle and its' split ends when properly broken in. I have three of them.

I bought the Semogue Owners Club boar with the butterscotch handle. After following steps in a YouTube video for fast break in I can recommend this brush without reservation. It whips up a rich creamy lather and while the tips are soft after break in , it has great backbone and really lifts and exfoliates.

I used to think there was nothing like a badger brush. But after buying the Semogue Owners Club boar and following a YouTube video on breaking in a boar brush I changed my opinion of boar. I bought the brush with the rosewood handle. When I saw the butterscotch handle version, I knew I had to have it as well. I highly recommend it and the good people at Bullgoose.
