I have read many reviews that were consistently positive about SV soaps. This is my first SV soap ever, and I selected this soap for the tin and scent profile. The soap's performance is top notch, and this from a tallow fella. The scent is powerful, so much so that I do not use aftershave with it. The soap leaves the skin feeling nice, and the scent lasts for a few hours. While I was struck by the scent's power, it really is a very nice cologne-type smell, very masculine and modern. Overall, if you can handle the strong scent, this is an outstanding soap. Highly recommend.
Saponificio Varesino are the best shaving soaps I have used, and I have over 400 equivalent 4-ounce pucks. I use it every Thursday as I rotate through its scent variations, and I think it is no accident that every time I get my smoothest, irritation--free shaves. I have several pucks of most of the soaps on the market in my vast collection, except for the very newest artisans (even I have my limits) and there are many superb soaps among them, but S.V. is absolutely the best, in my opinion.
My only gripe against S.V. is that their scents seem but a variation on some unknown single theme. I wish they would at least have some garden variety vetiver, cedar, sandalwood, rose scents. If they did though, I think they might be overwhelmed with orders and if they could keep up with those orders, they would crush their competition.
Wonderful product, provides a slick base allowing a second pass without additional foam. Just plain outstanding.
I got this soap based on others from Saponificio and it did not disappoint. The fragrance is great but not overpowering and the lather and glide are top notch. I will definitely keep this soap in my rotation.
I like all of the SV soaps. IMHO one of the best value buys available. I found this new Cubebe scent to be a milder, softer version of the SV/Asylum Colonia, which is also a great performer.
