Boar brushes have a reputation of being tools that do a great job of generating lather but that somehow lack soul and quality. Heinrich Thater is set to rectify that perception with their series of premium boar brushes.

Thater has sourced some very high quality natural white boar bristle. Their master brush maker experimented with the bristle for several months before perfecting the knots which will tame your hardest to lather soaps. The individual bristles split as the brush breaks in creating a super soft face feel.

H.L. Thater has combined this excellent knot with the high quality resin handles that you know and love.

I have used this brush 16 times now, the tips are starting to soften up, but overall the brush is still on the stiff side. Lost a few bristles but not alarmingly so... This is the boar brush that requires the most commitment of the ones I own: Omega, Zenith and Stirling softened up muck quicker. It is not a negative remark, just my experience with this particular brush and its long break-in period.

It's a bit early to assess this brush, it is a boar and I have used it only 6 times so far. It came with minor cosmetic issues on the bottom of the handle, and the knot was very stiff. It is starting to soften up just a touch now, and some of the bristles are splitting. We'll report back in a couple of months...

The Thater boar brush I got from Phil at BullGoose is one nice brush. The handle is fantastic, weight, beehive shape and color all match my Thater two band badger also from Phil. The boar knot is a beauty, very soft but perfectly dense and the loft is just right. This will easily be one of my go to brushes for sure. Thanks BullGoose for making this brush available.

This brush has changed my whole opinion on brushes. It loads a lot of soap and right from day one it felt great against my face and I know with it will get better with time. Love the handle and it’s weight. As of now it’s my favorite brush in my den which includes all my synthetics, other boars and badger. If I could give it 6 Stars I would and in my opinion worth every penny. If your thinking about getting one all I can say is “ don’t think “ just pick the color and great shaves are on the horizon!

Beautiful handle but I was disappointed with the knot. There was glue exposed on the bottom of the knot. Some of the hairs had red dye on them and there is many super thick coarse hairs which make it scratchy not scrubby. I expected more from an $80.00 boar. Maybe I got a lemon

This is a really good boar brush. In ten uses it’s only lost one hair is already starting to soften up. It’s just the right size and weight for easy use and loads perfectly. It just shows that buying quality always pays in the long run. Thater makes good brushes and I’m very pleased with it.

As soon as I notice these Thater boar brushes available I pulled the trigger with this beautiful ivory beehive hande with a premium boar knot. I have a few boar brushes for different manufacturers but this boar brush from thater was superb. I felt very soft right away on the first shave. I can't wait when it is full break in. Quality of the brush is amazing.
