Floris London Elite Shaving Soap in Wooden Bowl (100g)
This new formulation of Floris shave soap is excellent. It lathers easily and produces a thick creamy and ultra slick lather. Because it is triple-milled, the cost per shave is actually less than that of so called budget artisan soaps. The soap is beautifully presented in a wooden shaving bowl that is carefully crafted from renewable sources.
The mellow woody notes in Elite are enlivened with a cool citrus twist of bergamot, lemon and orange punctuated with the green resinous notes of cedar leaf and spicy juniper berry. Lavender and fir balsam with a touch of bay are key to the character of the heart and are reinforced by the woody notes of patchouli and vetiver. Mossy notes then play a leading role as the fragrance evolves with amber, musks and a hint of leather in the base.

Right off I noticed the scent. Very strong off the puck, I can see it being polarizing but I quite like it.
The lather was better than I expected, to be quite honest. Not only does the soap load easily off the puck, the lather explodes off the brush with little agitation.
The price is the obvious stumbling point. I don't feel like this soap outperforms a soap like Tabac (or even Arko), but sometimes it's worth a little more money to treat yourself to something luxurious.
Tl;dr Good scent. Good performance. Expensive, but worth it.
As someone who experienced the now old Floris, and the older Floris, it’s a great experience to say Floris is back where it belongs. Absolute top performing hard soap. Elite can be a bit of a polarizing scent, you either love it or hate it. I happen to love it but it won’t be for everyone. If you have never had the chance to smell either soap scent available, try to find a local retailer to take a sniff off the EDT sampler bottle and pick up which ever soap matches your preference. You won’t be disappointed.
