Is not loose or sloppy.
Has a firm yet comfortable feel on the face.
As others have noted, the handle of this brush is really the star of the show. The handle is a beautiful variegated green, not unlike malachite, and is very appealing. The handle has a good heft and a good grip when wet and soapy. One could wish for a bit more loft to the knot, but still, there's plenty and enough to get the job done. The fibers are soft, softer than my other synthetic fiber brushes, and feel quite nice on the face. Overall, this is an excellent addition to my shave cave and really classes the place up. I typically find the Asylum products to be of fine quality and excellent value. This brush is no exception, especially at the sale price. Grab one!
Out of 60+ brushes this is not only one of the handsomest (I was initially drawn to the beautiful green handle) but the fiber tips are pure luxury. They're so soft but not floppy. If I lived in a medieval kingdom I wouldn't be allowed to own this piece. It'd be reserved for royalty.
Okay, I have to admit, I fell for this brush because of the handle and the way it looked in the photos. In fact, all of the handles in this Asylum line are so absolutely cool looking, but the faux malachite Cheswick stood out. Having never used a synthetic brush before, I did not know what to expect and it seemed kind of strange upon first taking it out of the box. The bristles felt light and delicate and kind of springy and I thought, nah, this won't be any good. Wrong. I was totally wrong! It is an absolutely amazing brush. I'm partial to Prorasso soaps and creams and this little brush just produces volumes and volumes of lather with those products. Today it completely tore up a puck of Haslinger Schafmilch, once again producing large volumes of lather, and so proved itself adept with hard soaps also. And for me, the handle is perfect in my hand. Easy to grip, never slips. Additionally, it will make a great travel brush as it is completely dry in less than 90 minutes. I love this brush and I intend to pick up another one for a backup. Great job Phil, thanks for providing this wonderful brush!
I only have two problems with this brush, I love the looks of the handle, but the feel in my hand is lacking something. The knot on this razor and handle are smaller than I thought they would be. That being said I was really surprised at the amount of soap it picked up. I had no problem with it holding more than enough lather for 3 passes and some touch up. The knot has good backbone. It feels really nice on my face! I've heard some say it is springy, but I don't find that to be the case. It had no scritch and it releases the soap just fine. All in all it's a good brush.
