Kai Stainless Steel Double Edge Blades
Kai Double Edge Razor Blades are ninja sharp. They are made from high quality, medical grade stainless steel and they provide the user with close and consistent shaves. Product of Japan.
I had never tried these before and I have enough blades to last me a lifetime but at the promotional price Phil offered them they were hard to pass up. I added them to my rotation but so far I can't tell the difference between them and Feather, which is a great endorsement. If you like Feathers, you'll like these in my opinion. As usual, delivery and follow up from Phil was exemplary.
The Kai stainless blades seem more forgiving than the Feathers and a bit sharper than the Pol Silvers. I will be using these blades a lot. I get three comfortable shaves from a blade.
I've only used these blades 5 times so far. After using only one blade I get the feeling that these blades will be a workhorse in my Mergress.
My go-to blade varies from Polsilver to Gillette silver blues and now these Kai fit in nicely.
I was impressed by the Kai blades in the light blue box. Sharp and smooth. They might be my runner up to the Astra blades. Good find.
I like this blade a lot in milder razors like old Techs - it gives me a close and very comfortable shave. In razors with more blade feel the Kai really lets me know I’ve had a shave. Some guys like that, but I’m very happy with this blade in my vintage Gillettes.
I shave with a Feather AS-D2 razor and have tried multiple sample packs over the past 3 years. IMHO, the KAI works best in my Feather razor, even better than the Feather blades, The Kai blades are sharp, but smoother and more forgiving than the feather blades. They also last longer than other brands. Personally, I get 5 good shaves from a KAI blade and 2 decent ones. I change out once per week, so they are still economical, even at the higher price.
These are high quality blades from Japan. They are more affordably priced than the Feather blades I am currently using them in a 1940's or early 1950's Gillette Superspeed. I bought them to use in a 1963 Gillette Slim Adjustable They provide a smooth shave. I can't vouch for the longevity on these yet as I have just tried them. Take care with these. They are similar to the Feathers in their keen-ness. Bullgoose has priced these very competitively.
I think that the blade is a little thicker than the feather and more stable base give a s kktber base, the thicker base gives a smother shave.
I just bought an Above the Tie slant bar S2 razor from Bull Goose and a pack of Asrta, Perma Shave Super came with it. Based on the recommendation of BG I ordered a pack of Kai's. I have a Feather DE razor that I tried Feather and Personna med prep too. Kia's are just as sharp as Feathers but unlike the Feathers they are smooth as silk. Where the Feathers last 2 days the Kai's last over 7 days. I do s three pass shave daily and my blonde facial hair is as tough as bar wire. You can throughout all the other blades these are ten stars!
I purchased an ATT S1 a few weeks ago. While being an extremely smooth razor I felt that it was not living up to its potential with the blades I tried in it.
My solution was to buy some Kai blades. These blades took the S1 to a whole new level. They have earned a permanent place in my den.
Kai blades are made in the Japanese city where the fabled swords were produced. With this lineage they do not disappoint. Kai has a thicker blank than feathers and this may help avoid the extreme sharpness of feathers that many find to much and the short blade life. These are a premium blade with a premium price. Everyone should experience a Kai and
keep a few for when 'YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE A BBS SHAVE'.
